Peel v. Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of Illinois, 110 S.Ct. 2281 (1990), disallows any state from prohibiting disclosure of NBTA certification.

Missouri State Coordinator

I am proud of my board certification and believe it is one of the best things I have done for my practice.
--Doug Noland

Why I Got Board Certified:

I became Board Certified because I wanted to show the public that I had met the standards imposed by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, demonstrating my knowledge, skill, and expertise in all phases of civil trial advocacy. The standards set by NBTA for board certification are rigorous and objective. They ensure the public that an attorney who has met the requirements for certification has demonstrated a degree of skill, expertise, and knowledge and is able to represent a client through all phases of the litigation process.

The medical profession has long recognized board certification as a means to ensure the public of the physician’s skill and competence. The public has come to expect such certification by their physicians. The National Board of Trial Advocacy through its rigorous examination process, subject to peer review, provides the same assurance for consumers of an attorney’s skill and competence.

I am proud of my board certification and believe it is one of the best things I have done for my practice. It informs my clients and my colleagues of my willingness to meet the requirements and standards for board certification and possess a level of trial skills and expertise. I encourage any lawyer who seeks to obtain the highest standards of our profession to become board certified. It reflects a dedication to your clients and your profession, and a willingness to submit to a challenging examination and standards, all for the betterment of your clients, your practice, and your profession.

Choose a Board Certified Trial Lawyer

All lawyers are not created equal, but all lawyers are free to take any case they want, regardless of whether they've proven themselves.

NBTA board certification provides both consumers and other lawyers looking to refer cases with an objective credential.

It just makes great sense to choose a board certified trial lawyer over a non-certified lawyer.
