Why I Got Board Certified
When I first learned of the National Board of Trial Advocacy, I was quite excited. My practice brings me in contact with the medical field on a regular basis where board certification is the norm. I had never understood why the legal profession did not offer a national certification program to recognize those attorneys who met specific standards in the practice of law.

I applied for and received certification in Civil Trial Advocacy. This certification has proved a source of great personal pride and an assurance to my clients that I care enough to meet and maintain the prerequisite standards. They expect it of their doctors and are pleased to find a lawyer that has been certified. I always discuss my certification with new clients and am convinced it is a factor in their decision to retain me.

I urge all qualified attorneys to take the necessary steps to become certified, and encourage young lawyers to make certification their goal.

Choose a Board Certified Trial Lawyer

All lawyers are not created equal, but all lawyers are free to take any case they want, regardless of whether they've proven themselves.

NBTA board certification provides both consumers and other lawyers looking to refer cases with an objective credential.

It just makes great sense to choose a board certified trial lawyer over a non-certified lawyer.
