Peel v. Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of Illinois, 110 S.Ct. 2281 (1990), disallows any state from prohibiting disclosure of NBTA certification.

I am very proud that I am Board Certified.
--O. Fayrell Furr

Why I Got Board Certified
For the past thirty years I have specialized in medical negligence cases. It soon became evident that most of the physicians who were committing medical negligence had taken their Board Certification exams and had flunked them at least once or twice. Many of them had never even taken the Board Certification exam. Physician Board Certification became important to me in my choice of experts. When I heard that NBTA had started a Board Certification program for attorneys, I applied, took the exam and passed. I became Board Certified in 1984 for the first time. I have had numerous referrals from out-of-state attorneys who have chosen me because I am Board Certified. Now, with the internet, more and more clients are relying upon Board Certification for attorneys in choosing someone to represent them. I am very proud of the fact that I am Board Certified and I am happy to know that more and more attorneys are choosing to become Board Certified, which shows their recognition of the importance of Board Certification.

Choose a Board Certified Trial Lawyer

All lawyers are not created equal, but all lawyers are free to take any case they want, regardless of whether they've proven themselves.

NBTA board certification provides both consumers and other lawyers looking to refer cases with an objective credential.

It just makes great sense to choose a board certified trial lawyer over a non-certified lawyer.
